OFF HOURS — YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD CAFÉ

THE BRIEF

Give people a reason to slow down.

Introduce a neighborhood café to people who want somewhere to pause between work and home. Make a visit feel like a small part of the day that belongs to them.

THE VOICE

Warm, observant, unhurried. Everyday details and short invitations, without coffee snobbery or forced cheerfulness.

THE THINKING

The writing sells an occasion to visit. Meetings, rain, and a window seat place the café in the reader’s day. The relaxed pace carries across every touchpoint.

01 / HOMEPAGE

You have time for a coffee.

The next meeting can have the rest of your morning. Take this bit for yourself. Pull up a chair, order something warm, and settle in at OFF HOURS.

Stay until the rain stops.

03 / WELCOME EMAIL

Glad you found us.

We’ll drop by your inbox when there’s something new on the counter or a good reason to stop in. Until then, we hope to see you by the window, halfway through a cup.

THE BRIEF

Give each product a clear job.

Introduce a three-product skincare range to shoppers overwhelmed by complicated routines. Build clarity without making unsupported claims about results.

THE VOICE

Direct, composed, useful. Explain each product’s role. Leave out miracle promises, flaw-focused language, and scientific-sounding filler.

THE THINKING

The promise is an understandable range. The copy explains the order without inventing evidence about ingredients or effectiveness. Real product directions would need to match approved labels.

01 / HOMEPAGE

A routine you can explain in one sentence.

Cleanse, moisturize, and protect. Meet three everyday essentials, with a clear place for each in your morning.

THE BRIEF

Make the next action feel possible.

Introduce a task-planning app to independent workers who find long lists discouraging. Show how breaking a project into smaller tasks helps them choose one place to start.

THE VOICE

Practical, encouraging, lightly playful. Concrete verbs, with no guilt, hustle slogans, or promises of effortless productivity.

THE THINKING

The headline demonstrates the app through a before-and-after example. Onboarding follows the same principle: one decision at a time, with an example that helps the user answer.

01 / HOMEPAGE

“Build a website” is a lot.
“Write the first headline” is a start.

Break a project into smaller tasks, choose your next move, and keep it in view with NEXT SMALL THING.

What are you working on?

Give your project a name. We’ll make room for the smaller steps next.

03 / LAUNCH EMAIL

Some tasks are really projects wearing short names.

“Launch my portfolio” might mean choosing three samples, writing an introduction, and finding a home for it all.

Put those steps in NEXT SMALL THING. Then choose one to work on today.
